What we're doing
We’re planning a more vibrant, connected and welcoming Broadmeadows for everyone.
Broadmeadows is growing – with upcoming projects to create new homes, new services, better public transport, and new training, education and job opportunities.
Project Broadmeadows will create one long-term plan for the city centre. This is our plan to realise Broadmeadows’ potential and guide how the area will grow.
This will help make sure changes are well-planned, fair and meet community needs. It will also help decide which improvements should happen first.
The plan will:
-
Bring together current and future projects for housing, transport, jobs, services and public spaces
-
Reflect and embed Wurundjeri Woi‑wurrung cultural heritage and knowledge
-
Support a future Broadmeadows that is safe, welcoming and fair for all communities
-
Identify priority projects that are ready for investment and funding
-
Include a clear roadmap for Broadmeadows with steps and milestones so progress can be tracked
This work will help support better liveability, more jobs, improved services and stronger connections for our community.
Why are we doing these works?
Broadmeadows is growing – with upcoming projects to create new homes, new services, better public transport, and new training, education and job opportunities.
This is great news for our community – but there is currently no single plan that brings everything together.
Project Broadmeadows will create one long-term detailed plan to help guide how the area will grow.
This project will help by:
-
Making sure future growth is well-planned, inclusive and sustainable
-
Helping government, businesses and the community work together
-
Creating opportunities for jobs, better services and easier connections
-
Building pride in Broadmeadows as a thriving, welcoming and well-connected centre
