Name our waste mascot - The waste mascot says

Voting has now closed. 

The waste mascot’s name will be officially announced at Town Hall Broadmeadows on Clean up Australia Day, Sunday 5 March 2023. The person who suggests the winning name will receive a $250 gift card.

Residents are invited to come along to the Town Hall Broadmeadows from 11:30am to enjoy a free BBQ lunch.  

Hume City Mayor Cr Joseph Haweil will also take the opportunity to share Council’s new plans for waste management in Hume, with particular focus on Council’s plans to tackle illegally dumped rubbish.  

The waste mascot will help promote our waste goals, which include:  

  • Tackling illegally dumped rubbish 

  • Empowering residents to recycle correctly  

  • Spreading the word about food and organics recycling  

  • Reducing the amount we send to landfill.

2023 NAME OUR BIN MASCOT TERMS AND CONDITIONS

STANDARD TERMS  

Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this promotion deems acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. 

The Promoter is Hume City Council (ABN - 14854354856) of 1079 Pascoe Vale Road, Broadmeadows. 2023 Name our Bin Mascot 

HOW TO ENTER AND WIN 

The entire promotional Period commences on Wednesday 15 February 2023 at 1.30pm (AEDT) and concludes on Friday 3 March 2023 at 11.59pm (AEDT). 

Entries must be received by the Promoter by the competitions closing dates and times. 

To enter, individuals must complete the following steps during the Promotional Period: 

(a) Visit the Hume City Council Facebook/Instagram page. 

(b) Find the post (timestamped 1.05pm AEDT on Wednesday 15 February 2023) and comment on the corresponding posts by 11.59pm AEDT on Wednesday 1 March 2023.  

(c) Answers must contain 50 words or less and directly answer the corresponding question. Entrants are permitted to enter each competition as many times as they wish. 

(d) Four (4) answers will be selected by Council for a shortlist on Wednesday 1 March by Hume City Council. 

(e) Hume residents will have 24 hours to vote for their favourite shortlisted name on this web page. Voting for the shortlist will open at 12.00pm on Thursday 2 March 2023 and will close at 12.00pm on Friday Sunday 3 March 2023. 

(f) A winning name will be announced on Sunday 5 March 2023 at 11.30am in person at Town Hall Broadmeadows.

(g) Entrants will only be considered if they live in Hume. Hume City Council may contact the winner and ask for proof of address.  

PRIZES 

Entrants will be eligible to win only one prize throughout the promotional period. 

  1. One (1) entrant will win a $250 Coles gift card.  

Validity of the voucher prizes cannot be extended, and prizes cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. The prizes are subject to individual terms and conditions as specified on the vouchers. 

All prizes will be delivered to winner in person at Town Hall Broadmeadows on Sunday 5 March 2023 at 11.30am.  

The prizes must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if the winner is unable to or fails to accept the prize as stated. If the winner is unable to satisfy these terms and conditions or a prize is not utilised or able to be taken within the specified timeframe, the prize will be forfeited by the winner.  

The prizes, or any unused portion of a prize, are not transferable, exchangeable, refundable or redeemable for cash. If any prize (or part of any prize) is unavailable, the Promoter may, in its discretion, substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification. 

In participating in the promotion, all entries become the property of the Promoter.  The winner agrees to participate and cooperate as required in all editorial or marketing activities relating to the promotion as requested, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed. The winner grants the Promoter a perpetual and non-exclusive license to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use. 

The winners agree that they will not sell or otherwise provide their story and/or photographs to any media or other organisation.  

The entrant agrees to indemnify and to keep indemnified the Promoter, in connection with the Contractors performance or purported performance of its obligations under this promotion and be directly related to the negligent acts, errors or omission of the Promoter. 

WHO CAN ENTER  

Entry is only open to Hume residents and winners will be required to verify their status as a Hume resident via an ID check.  

Entrants must be over 18 years old or if under 18 must receive permission from a legal parent or guardian after being selected as a winner in order to claim their prize. 

Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter including but not limited to Hume City Council staff and contractors associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.  

Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, sibling, brother, sister, step-sibling, stepbrother, stepsister or first cousin.  

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

The Promoter collects personal information in order to conduct the promotion and may disclose such information to third parties and for the purpose of administering this promotion. Entrants should direct any request to access this information by contacting the Promoter on 9205 2200.
