Vic Anchen: Gum Trees and Rocks is the first solo exhibition by life-long Broadmeadows resident Vic Anchen (1949). The exhibition showcases his ongoing interest in portraying the natural world and will feature an installation of gumtrees painted on doors suspended from the ceiling at various heights around the gallery space. Painted on repurposed wood, his gumtree landscapes are mesmerising, expressionistic and looping compositions that hover somewhere between representation and dreamscape. Vic is featured in an upcoming documentary, Elsewhere Starts Here and it’s All Happening (2022), which premiered at the 40th Torino Film Festival.
