The Kalkallo North Community Centre is now home to a vibrant mural by Melbourne-based artist Manda Lane, called Growth. Inspired by native grassland species unique to the Kalkallo region, the artwork features a striking botanical design that celebrates the local environment.
Thoughtfully integrated into the architecture of the Centre’s courtyard, the mural wraps around the window frame, creating a dynamic sense of movement and bringing colour and life to the outdoor space. Manda’s signature style transforms the area into a contemplative retreat, encouraging visitors to connect with both the artwork and the surrounding landscape.
This project also supported local talent through a mentorship opportunity with emerging artist Sarah Louise, who collaborated with Manda to bring the mural to life. The mural now stands as a creative focal point for future community activities and events at the Centre.
