What we did

We've completed valuable upgrades at Derby Street Reserve in Tullamarine to provide new facilities and recreational spaces for all ages and abilities in a safe and inclusive environment. Works were carried out over two stages.

Stage One was completed in June 2023 and involved an upgrade of the existing tennis courts to include:

• A multipurpose basketball, netball and futsal court
• Two recreational tennis courts
• Sheltered viewing area with bench seating
• New footpath connecting to Derby Street
• New public toilets

Stage two commenced in July 2024 and involved construction of a new purpose-built play and recreation environment, including:
• Junior and senior play areas
• New outdoor exercise equipment
• Covered picnic area with new BBQ and drinking fountain
• Informal recreational lawn areas
• Landscaped garden
• Tree planting
• Connecting path network
• Perimeter fencing
• New carpark with lighting

Stage two works were completed in May 2025.

Community engagement will take place to address the future development of the BMX Track and other opportunities for this space.
