‘Bluestone memories’ by artists Creature Creature with Conman

Melbourne based artist duo Ambrose Rehorek and Chanel Tang (Creature Creature) partnered with vintage fan Connor McLennan (ConMan)

to create an entertaining collage inspired by Sunbury’s unique natural beauty and heritage.

The three artists spoke with local history volunteers and invited residents’ input to arrive at a final design.

The completed artwork includes nostalgic nods to Sunbury landmarks, framed against elegant homages to the region’s local flora and fauna, such as the delicate Fishbone Water Fern, endemic in the nearby Macedon Ranges.

A circle of Welcome Swallows flies in the centre of the design, prompted by a flock the artists saw while visiting the local Nook swimming hole on Jacksons Creek.

Around this sit clipped remnants of local heritage; from Sunbury Rock Festival; the Railway Viaduct Bridge and Emu Bottom Homestead to local vineyards and eucalypt forest.
