We're refurbishing the existing timber seating outside Hume City Council Offices in Broadmeadows to improve safety and enhance the vicinity for Council customers.

What are we doing?

The existing timber seating will be replaced with new, safer concrete seating, which will also include integrated lighting to match the concrete benches along Civic Way. We will also install stainless steel planters to enhance the look and feel of the space.

Stage 1: Wednesday 8 May until Wednesday 22 May 2024. Activities involve removal of the existing timber seating and minor trenching works.

Stage 2: Beginning 2 September 2024, we will install new concrete benches and stainless steel planters. The works will take approximately two weeks to complete. There will be temporary site fencing around the works area, and access to the customer service area will be maintained at all times as these works are completed

All works will take place between 7am and 3:30pm. Access to the customer service area will be maintained at all times as these works are completed.

Impacts

Access to the customer service area will be maintained at all times as these works are completed, and every effort will be made to minimise disruption to both customers and staff.

Throughout construction, six parking spaces within the staff carpark will be blocked off for contractors to store their site container and toilet area. These spaces will be available after works in Stage 1 are completed and will be blocked off again prior to Stage 2 commencing in early September.

We appreciate your patience during this time and apologise for any inconvenience.
