What we're doing

We're delivering Stage 2 of the Sunbury Skate Park upgrade, building on the existing facility to expand and enhance skate, scooter and BMX opportunities for the community.

Stage 2 is part of Council’s Skate, Scooter and BMX Strategy Implementation Program and represents the final phase of works identified under this program.

The upgrade will include:

  • expansion of the existing skate park with new riding elements and features
  • improvements to cater for a wider range of skill levels and riding styles
  • integration of Stage 2 works with the existing Stage 1 facility delivered in 2019
  • refinement and finalisation of the previously developed concept design.

Why we're doing it

The Skate, Scooter and BMX Plan, endorsed in 2013, provides long-term direction for developing skate, scooter and BMX facilities across Hume.

Stage 2 of the Sunbury Skate Park is the final project identified under this plan. It builds on the successful delivery of Stage 1, completed in 2019, which expanded the facility and introduced new skill elements for riders.

This upgrade will further enhance the park to better meet local community needs by providing a high-quality, contemporary space for active recreation.

Timing and next steps

A concept plan has been developed and is available to view here(PDF, 383KB). We encourage you to review the plan and provide any feedback.

We will continue to keep the community updated as the project progresses.
