Hume City Council is once again offering a free confidential Tax Help service to help residents who earned less than $70,000 in the last financial year to complete and lodge their tax returns.

The Tax Help program is delivered in Broadmeadows, Craigieburn and Westmeadows. The program is run by the Australian Taxation Office and supported by trained and accredited volunteers from the Hume Volunteer Gateway

From 1 July to 31 October each year, Tax help volunteers help people lodge their tax returns online. Our volunteers can also help you:

  • lodge amendments
  • claim a refund of franking credits
  • tell us if you don't need to lodge a return.

To make an enquiry or appointment call:

For Broadmeadows and Craigieburn call 9356 6928 and for Westmeadows call 9356 6560

Email taxhelp@hume.vic.gov.au

If you are eligible, you will need a myGov account linked to the Australian Taxation Office prior to attending your appointment.

Want information in a language other than English? You can find translated resources on the Australian Taxation Office website.

Tax Help is also offered at Goonawarra Neighbourhood House. Residents can call to 9740 6627 to book an appointment at the centre.
