Sunbury Resource Recovery Centre and Recycled Goods Store will be closing at 3pm on Tuesday 30 April 2024. Normal hours will resume the following day.

The Hume community is set to reap the benefits of a Victorian Government local infrastructure fund, with more than $2.7 million announced for the City.
The successful Hume projects to be funded through the Victorian Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund include:
Valley Park Community Centre in Westmeadows, which will receive $1 million towards its delivery. The community centre will support local service and program delivery, including maternal and child health and playgroups.
Progress Reserve in Coolaroo will receive $650,000 towards Stage 1 of its redevelopment. This stage is the first of three and will deliver new playspaces, a ‘nature play’ area, toilets, a covered picnic and BBQ area, as well as a connected and landscaped path network.
Sunbury Park in Sunbury will receive $250,000 towards an upgrade. This upgrade includes new pathways and fencing, a rest area with shelter, BBQ and picnic furniture, a ‘nature play’ area and new trees and planting beds.
Forrest Street Playspace in Sunbury will receive $260,000 towards an upgrade. This upgrade will see the inclusion of new shelter, picnic furniture, play space equipment, a ‘nature play’ area, a ‘ninja obstacle course’ and fitness equipment.
Village Green (Rolling Meadows) Playspace in Sunbury will receive $256,000 towards an upgrade. This upgrade includes new play equipment, a ‘nature play’ area, picnic furniture and a treed connecting path to create a walking loop.
Westmeadows Shopping Precinct in Westmeadows will receive $189,750 towards an upgrade. This funding will improve the amenity of the precinct by enhancing outdoor dining opportunities, introducing ambient lighting and improved landscaping.

“An announcement that more than $2.7 million will be delivered for important projects across Hume is very welcomed news.
